This Privacy Policy describes how Lightt Media LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use the RED mobile application and related services. By using RED, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated by your use of the app, and information from third-party sources.

Information You Provide

  • Account registration details: name, email address, phone number, and profile photo
  • Address and service location information
  • Payment information (processed securely through Authorize.net; we do not store full card numbers)
  • Messages and communications sent through the in-app messaging system
  • Reviews and ratings you submit for service providers
  • Identity verification documents (for service providers)
  • Business information provided by service providers, including license numbers and insurance documentation

Information Generated Automatically

  • Device information: device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and push notification tokens
  • Location data: precise GPS location when you use the app and when a job is active (with your permission)
  • Usage data: features accessed, pages viewed, search queries, and time spent in the app
  • Log data: IP address, app crashes, and diagnostic information
  • Transaction history: job requests, bookings, cancellations, and payment records

Information from Third Parties

  • Payment processors (Authorize.net) for transaction confirmations
  • Background check providers (for service provider verification)
  • Analytics providers (Firebase Analytics, Sentry)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Match customers with qualified service providers in their area
  • Process payments and manage transactions
  • Facilitate real-time communication between customers and providers
  • Send service-related notifications, confirmations, and updates
  • Calculate provider earnings, tips, and bonuses
  • Enforce our Terms of Service and community guidelines
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and safety incidents
  • Improve the app's features, performance, and user experience
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Send marketing communications (with your consent, where required)
  • Provide customer support

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in the following circumstances:

Between Customers and Providers

When you book a service, we share relevant information between the customer and provider — such as name, general location, job details, and contact information — to facilitate the service.

Service Providers and Partners

  • Payment processors (Authorize.net) to process transactions
  • Cloud hosting providers (AWS) for data storage and infrastructure
  • Analytics and crash reporting tools (Firebase, Sentry) to improve app quality
  • Background check services to verify provider credentials
  • Push notification services (Apple APNs, Google FCM) to deliver alerts

Legal and Safety Reasons

We may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of any person, investigate fraud, or enforce our agreements.

Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity. We will notify you of any such change.

4. Location Data

RED requires location access to connect you with nearby service providers. We collect your precise location:

  • When you open the app and search for services (foreground location)
  • During an active job to track provider arrival and progress (foreground location)

We do not continuously track your location in the background when no job is active. You can manage location permissions through your device settings, though disabling location access will limit app functionality.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit using TLS/HTTPS
  • Encryption of sensitive data at rest
  • Secure, tokenized payment processing through Authorize.net (we never store raw payment card data)
  • Role-based access controls limiting employee access to user data
  • Regular security assessments and monitoring

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Specifically:

  • Account data: Retained for the life of your account and up to 3 years after account deletion
  • Transaction records: Retained for 7 years for accounting and legal compliance
  • Messages: Retained for 2 years after the associated job is completed
  • Location data: Retained for 90 days after collection
  • Device tokens: Retained while your account is active

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see "Your Rights" below). Some data may be retained longer if required by law or for fraud prevention purposes.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format
  • Opt-out of marketing: Unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us
  • Push notifications: Manage notification preferences through your device settings or within the app

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@red.lighttmedia.com. We will respond to your request within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

RED is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will promptly delete it. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

9. Third-Party Links and Services

The app may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through our app.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the app and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of RED after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
